Saturday

Brett Whiteley has really nice lines. I like how he ‘draws’ his wife, the shapes. The above picture is Portrait of Wendy (1984) and is from this site.

Thursday

The above image is from The Skull Set’s website by Jack Siegel. To be precise it is from the page called: ‘this place is filled with sickos‘.
Cracked have a great Superman spoof (send up) over here: Stupendous Man. They also have one for Batman fans, Dusk-Man!

Saturday

The above image is by Richard Barnes and is from an article in the The New York Times about birds flight patterns. They had a nice article about Eddie a few weeks back, but it’s in the archive now. Though the slide show is still online.
Bubble wrap online!

Also, Pete and Carl reunited on the 12th. You can download the gig here as four rar files but somewere you can get the whole thing as a zip. Old news yeah but great gig.

Saturday

A facinating article on “The Tennessee Williams-ness of Lindsay Lohan” from OxfordAmericanMag.com

Quote from IMDB’s Hit List.

Tuesday

If you only own two soundtracks make them these two.

Tuesday

I saw Sally Smart’s The Exquisite Pirate as part of the 2006 Commonwealth Contemporary exhibition at NGV A last year. The above image is Morphology Daphne (2004) from Painting In The Dark.

Sunday

I saw David Harley’s exhibition at The Stonington Stables Museum of Art a few weeks back and his early stuff is great but he’s more digital based now and it’s stupid. It’s all abstract and it doesn’t take a genius to do abstracts on a computer. No matter.

I also went to see Prudence Flint’s work at the nellie castan gallery. I really like her style, and I loved the sketches that were on show as well, in some ways more than the paintings.
The above piece , Four wheel drive #2, was also a finalist in the Archibald Prize 2006.
